The Phi Ta Khon Festival is the traditional identity of Loei Province. It is performed in part of Buddhist merit–making holiday called “Bun Luang” to worship the spirits and the protectors of the villages. The Phi Ta Khon performance is an activity for community unity and social participation. Moreover, the tradition is related to Buddhism as local people gather at temples to make merits and listen to the Dhamma talk to gladden their mind.
